NHP Women in Electrical Engineering Scholarship 2026

The NHP Women in Electrical Engineering Scholarship has been established to support a high performing female student currently undertaking undergraduate studies in engineering, with a specialisation in electrical and electronic. Additionally, NHP is offering industry experiences, mentorship, and development opportunities to the successful recipient.

Through this scholarship, NHP is supporting the next generation of female engineers, empowering them to succeed and helping to build a more diverse and inclusive engineering workforce.

The scholarship is valued at $7,500 per year for a third-year student to be awarded in their third and fourth years of study, or $7,500 for a fourth-year student.


Courses eligible

The following courses offered by Swinburne University of Technology:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a major in Electrical and Electronic
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Professional) with a major in Electrical and Electronic

Eligibility / selection criteria

To be eligible for the NHP Women in Electrical Engineering Scholarship, applicants must:

    1. Meet the following criteria:
      • identify as female
      • Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
    2. Meet the following enrolment criteria:
      • be a third or fourth year continuing Swinburne student in Semester 1, 2026
      • enrolled full-time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
      • on-campus
    3. Achieved a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher
       
    4. Submit a personal statement (500 words) addressing the following points:
      • goals, achievements, and motivation for applying
      • interest in pursuing a career in electrical engineering
      • leadership aspirations
      • commitment to engage with mentoring, industry exposure, and  development opportunities
      • alignment with NHP's culture and values

    Value

    The scholarship is valued at:

    • $7,500 per year for a third-year student to be awarded in their third and fourth years of study, or
    • $7,500 for a fourth-year student

    Funds will be paid bi-annually.
