Swinburne Community Bank Leadership Scholarship 2026

The Swinburne Community Bank Leadership Scholarship was established by Community Bank Inner East to support a Swinburne undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in health or education who embodies the values of leadership, community spirit, and volunteering. Through financial assistance, the scholarship empowers students to pursue their studies and achieve their full potential.

Community Bank Inner East is operated by Inner East Community Finance, a local company owned by local people. Since its opening in 2003, Community Bank Inner East has provided $10 million in sponsorship and grants supporting the clubs, projects and organisations at the heart of their local community.

This scholarship is valued at $7,500 for one year only.

• Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary)
• Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching)
• Bachelor of Health Science
• Bachelor of Health Science (Honours)
• Bachelor of Health Science (Professional)
• Bachelor of Nutrition
• Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)
• Bachelor of Psychological Sciences
• Bachelor of Health Science (Psychology and Psychophysiology major)
• Bachelor of Health Science (Psychology and Forensic Science major)
• Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science
• Bachelor of Biomedical Science


Eligibility / selection criteria

To be eligible for the Swinburne Community Bank Leadership Scholarship, applicants must:

1. Meet the following criteria:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident

2. Meet the following enrolment criteria:

  • be a continuing Swinburne student in Semester 1, 2026
  • enrolled full time or part time in an eligible course
  • studying on-campus

3. Provide a copy of curriculum vitae (max. 2 pages)

4. Provide an academic transcript of the previous year of study (an unofficial transcript is acceptable)

5. Submit a written statement of up to 500 words or a two-minute video addressing:

  • interest in your chosen career
  • volunteering/ leadership experience in the community.

    Upload the video to cloud based storage and provide a link in an MS Word or PDF document. Please ensure the video can be downloaded by anyone and provide any passwords if necessary.

6. Provide a written reference from a teacher, community leader, or employer. Note: referees cannot be a family member or friend.


Value

The scholarship is worth $7,500 and will be awarded for one year, paid bi-annually.
