Indigenous Transition Scholarship (VET)
The Indigenous Transition Scholarship (VET) is specifically awarded to support an Indigenous student who has successfully completed a VET Course (CERT I – CERT IV, Diploma (including UniLink) and Advanced Diploma) course and is transitioning to a Higher Education course.
Courses eligible
Any Undergraduate (Bachelor) course offered by Swinburne University of Technology or Swinburne Online.
NOTE: Applicants must have completed a Vocational Education (Certificate I – IV, Diploma (including Unilink) and Advanced Diploma) course in the preceding year and is transitioning to an undergraduate (Bachelor) course.
Eligibility / selection criteria
To be eligible for the Indigenous VET Transition Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Meet the following criteria:
- Be an Australian citizen
- Confirm you are of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage by submitting a Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Heritage certificate (COA) with your scholarship application or a certified Statutory Declaration declaring that the individual applying for the scholarship is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, and/or is accepted as such by the community in which you live, or formerly lived.
- Meet the following enrolment criteria:
- completed a Vocational Education (VET) course in the preceding year and is transitioning to an undergraduate course
- enrolled full-time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
- studying on campus or online
- A written statement (max. 500 words) addressing the following points:
- your passion and commitment to study
- how this scholarship will help you achieve your educational goals
- Applicants for the Indigenous Technology and Engagement scholarship are required to book an appointment and connect with an Indigenous Student Advisor through the Moondani Toombadool Centre (MTC) at the commencement of your studies to explore your learning needs. Value
The Indigenous Transition Scholarship (VET) is valued at $2500 (One-off payment).
Please note this scholarship is paid within 30 days after the census date for the applicable semester / teaching period the scholarship is applied for.

Applicants should complete an online application form and submit with all supporting documentation.
