Avanade Women in STEM Scholarship 2026

The Avanade Women in STEM scholarship was established to support a female, second year student enrolled full time in an eligible undergraduate STEM course at Swinburne. The recipient will also be provided with opportunities to develop professional skills to support their chosen career through mentoring and other meaningful engagement opportunities offered by Avanade Australia.

This scholarship is valued at up to $11,250  with $5,625 paid annually for up to two years.

Eligibility / selection criteria

To be eligible for the Avanade Women in STEM Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Meet the following criteria:
    • Female student
    • Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
  2. Meet the following enrolment criteria​​​​:
    • be a second year continuing Swinburne student in Semester 1, 2026
    • enrolled full-time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
    • studying on-campus
  3. Provide evidence of educational disadvantage, which may fall under the categories listed below. To assist you, we’ve included a link to the VTAC website for further guidance on preparing your evidence.

    Personal information and location
    Financial hardship
    Living with a disability or medical condition
    Difficult family and life circumstances

  4. Provide a resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
     
  5. Submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words outlining the following points:
    • interest in your chosen course
    • career ambitions
    • how this scholarship would assist you to achieve your goals

Value

The scholarship is valued at $5,625 per year, paid bi-annually, for a maximum of 2 years.
