Contemporary approaches to university teaching

Swinburne’s Learning Transformations team has developed a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) called ‘Contemporary approaches to university teaching’.

The MOOC is a free course aimed to share experiences and best practices in contemporary teaching with Australian Higher Education teachers who are at the start of their teaching career. This teaching induction course provides key introductory learning and teaching concepts and strategies.

It's suitable for academics, faculty, research students, librarians, IT staff and a host of other roles which have a university teaching component.

The self-paced course is comprised of 11 expert-developed modules (2-hour modules) and several specialty modules.

The first run of the course in Semester 1 2018 saw 1,020 people participate. It's intended to run on a semester basis, with the next availability window having opened on 1 July 2018 and finishing on 31 December 2018.

Participants can enrol in the course anytime throughout the semester.
