Course description
The Diploma of Information Technology with dual specialisations in Game art & design and Game programming, prepares students for a career in the interactive entertainment industry. This course focuses on an immersive training experience in areas including technical art, programming, theory and projects that mirror the professional pipeline production environment of a video game designer & programmer. This course covers developing technical art skills, programming skills and aesthetic foundation skills that supports all subsequent work.
Building skill sets in 2D computer graphics, scripting & programming, 3D modelling, animation, texture, lighting, games and media, building graphical user interfaces and applying artificial intelligence in game development.
Designing and developing a game level through individual and group work that simulates professional pipeline production techniques. Working with our industry partners to support an immersive real world experience, creating an holistic learning experience.

Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements, however we would recommend you have the skills and knowledge in;
• Basic understanding in the function and use of game engines, ideally Unreal Engine\
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Basic experience in 3D asset production, including:
• 3D modelling
• 3D texturing
or attainment of
• ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Gaming Development)Applicants would additionally greatly benefit from skills and knowledge in the following:
• Unreal Engine Blueprint scripting
• Game development tools:

Note: Applicants without a solid grounding in information technology, may choose to complete the Certificate IV in Information Technology (Gaming Development) to gain foundational skills in the subject matter.
