The Cyber Academy is a unique program designed in partnership with Deloitte and government to develop the in-demand skills the industry needs. With the number of cyber security roles only increasing, you’ll put yourself in the enviable position of being armed with the essential skills, on-the-job experience, and industry connections to get a foothold in this booming sector.
Earn while you learn
Throughout the program, you’ll have ongoing paid work with Deloitte or an industry or government sector partner, and receive coaching, mentoring, and training in soft skills, ethics, and leadership capabilities. In an average week, you’ll spend three days with your employer and two days on your studies, developing skills in networking, coding, and defensive and offensive cyber security tactics.
Seamless transition to higher education
On successful completion, you’ll automatically progress to the Bachelor of Cyber Security with eight units’ credit – meaning you’ll complete both the diploma and degree in three years. Thanks to Deloitte and our industry partners, you’ll have a pathway straight into employment upon graduation from your degree.

Course description
The Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Networking and Cyber Security) stream is all about preparing the students for future exciting opportunities and challenges that comes with technological advancements. The emphasis is placed on practical skills using a hands-on approach in areas of Network Administration (both physical and virtual infrastructure), Virtualization, Cloud, Wireless technologies, and Network and infrastructure security. We also have Vendor qualifications such as CISCO CCNA.

Aims and objectives
Course technologies: Our Graduates are exposed to wide variety of technologies originating from leading vendors such as Microsoft, VMware, CISCO and variants of Linux such as CentOS, Ubuntu and Kali Linux.
In delivering these technologies the key focus is on:
- Microsoft Server: Active Directory, Group Policy management, DNS, DHCP, Nano Server and its management etc.
- Linux Server: Administration and usage in security auditing and penetration testing
- CISCO Routing, Switching, VLANs, IPV4/IPV6, LAN and WAN design and Troubleshooting wireless design and Configuration virtualization and cloud; building and management of virtual infrastructure including building & managing private cloud using leading vendors products such as VMware VSphere and vCenter, Microsoft Hyper V and System Centre. Cloud related services, privacy, security, storages etc.

A VET Student Loan is available for this course – allowing you to defer part of your fees if you're eligible.
The maximum VET Student Loan amount for this course is $16,788. You must start repaying this loan once you earn above the compulsory repayment threshold.

Entry requirements
Applicants will need to demonstrate numeracy and literacy competencies. As part of the application process, applicants will be required to complete Deloitte's online Hakerzon assessment, an AbilityMap capability framework mapping and to complete an interview with Deloitte and/or their partner organisation. Entry into this program is based on the applicant's study (completion of year 12 is an advantage) and/or relevant work history, Hakerzon, AbilityMap, and interview outcomes and numeracy/literacy assessment. Entry is merit-based and limited by the number of industry employment places provided by Deloitte and their partner organisations.
