The screen and media industries have a healthy demand for skilled practitioners at all levels. The Certificate IV in Screen and Media is your ground level entry point to this highly varied and dynamic field. Develop a vast spectrum of fundamental skills in all areas of pre-production, production and post-production, along with strong industry knowledge. As you work collaboratively with your peers, grow your skills and knowledge in:

  • Screen writing and pitching
  • Drawing and storyboarding
  • Sound recording and sound design
  • Cinematography and video production
  • Visual effects and 2D animation
  • Editing and post-production process

Swinburne’s strong relationships with industry give you the opportunity to take part in industry-based client projects. You’ll also explore the history and social impact of creativity, independent filmmaking and content creation for YouTube.

It’s not always easy to break into the biz, but this course sets you up as an ideal candidate for a plethora of entry level or assistant positions such as production assistant, lighting assistant, assistant director, special effects developer, or YouTube content creator.
