This certificate focuses on preparing you for a career in the health and leisure industry. With a combination of face-to-face and online delivery, students will learn from relevant professionals and will develop skills to implement in their workplace.
Learn how to follow safety practices, improve your professionalism and emotional intelligence, and gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to develop and implement health programs. Plus, gain the practical skills and knowledge to manage stress and improve your personal and professional practice.
You’ll learn through a combination of hands-on experience and theory. Enhance your six hours of weekly study with seven hours of real industry experience – every week – with your leisure and health organisation. It all adds up to preparing you to pursue your career as a community worker with confidence.

Course description
With a strong focus on following safety practices, improving professionalism, emotional intelligence and developing and implementing health programs, students will walk away with the confidence and qualifications to thrive in their future roles.
As a part of this delivery, students will complete a minimum of 7 hours of work with their leisure and health organisation each week, plus 6 hours of study each week.
Upon completion, you will be ready to work in health and leisure facilities in a number of different roles.

Entry requirements
Entry into this program includes applicants employed within an approved leisure and health service. Students will be supported by vocationally competent and current workplace supervisors.
All applicants must maintain a current Working with Children Check throughout the duration of the program.
