The explosion of cloud networks, office networks, cyber security and associated technologies requires skilled professionals now. If learning how it all fits together sounds like you, then Swinburne’s Certificate IV of Information Technology (Networking) could be just the qualification you need to get started.

This course covers the fundamental aspects of ICT networking technologies. Whether you’re just starting out or undertaking a career change, you’ll learn how to install and manage small scale networks – on your own and in a team. Working in specialised “Lab” classrooms designed to simulate real-world workplaces, you’ll develop your skills and knowledge in:

  • Routing and switching
  • Server administration
  • Linux and Microsoft platforms
  • Client support
  • Data security
  • Python scripting
  • Testing and troubleshooting
You don’t need any networking skills to apply – just a desire to forge a career in a busy, ever-growing field. The wide variety of career pathways upon graduation includes network support, operations support, operations technician, network technician, and network support technician. You might also choose to continue into the Diploma of Information Technology (Networking).
