Course description
This course provides students with the skills and abilities appropriate to meet the needs of the various sectors within the horticultural industry. Study can be undertaken in a number of streams such as nursery, parks and gardens or landscape construction.
The Certificate III in Horticulture units are designed to develop generic workplace skills which are highly valued by employers, these include understanding industry health and safety requirements.
Course structure
Units will be studied in clusters of like competencies. The course requirements can be structured to meet a student's needs - they can be studied one day per week or multiple days, and completion time will be dependent on the structure of the course.
To complete this course, students are required to successfully complete 16 units, five core and 11 elective units. The 11 elective units to be selected may vary depending on training requirements (the elective units shown are a sample list only).

This course is based upon industry-identified Horticulture Training Package competencies. The aim is to provide the student with the knowledge and skills required to operate successfully in the horticultural industry, and is aimed to give general vocational outcomes in horticulture.
