The Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media focusing on Animation provides a range of skills in creative and technical applications of motion graphics and animation. Students implement pre-visualisation and story boarding techniques, and production processes for animation, including 2D and 3D animation, sound and special effects. The course is designed to equip students with a combination of practical skills and critical thinking to prepare for a career in screen and media production.

Course description
Year 12 applicants will typically apply for the Diploma of Screen and Media - Animation and progress to the Advanced Diploma level designed to further develop and refine knowledge and skills in the key areas of curriculum: concept development; script writing; 2D animation; 3D animation; character modeling and animation; production for screen; post-production; sound design; editing.

Entry requirements
Successful completion of relevant diploma level qualification.
Applicants with 18 months full-time relevant industry experience can provide a CV and submit a portfolio of work demonstrating evidence of the following skills/knowledge:
- preproduction for screen and media, including storyboarding, concept development and script writing
- stages of production in the screen and media industry
- 2D and 3D animation software
- sound production and sound recording
- video recording and editing.
