Our research platforms and initiatives have been established to support and enable innovative, cutting-edge research. They are used by our own academics and in partnership with industry, government and other research organisations and universities to directly benefit the local and global community.
Our research ecosystem includes a number of strategic platforms and initiatives that are designed to help our partners find innovative solutions to their real-world problems.

In partnership with CSIRO and ARENA 2036, Swinburne’s Victorian Hydrogen Hub brings together the community to support sustainable manufacturing practices.

Design Factory Melbourne
uses the design innovation process to solve complex problems, generate innovative solutions and forecast future scenarios, delivering prototype products, services and systems
Australian Technical Evaluation Network (ATEN)
is a proposed scheme to bring together a network of selected construction experts and testing facilities to evaluate building construction products and systems as to their fitness-for-purpose.
Innovation Precinct
is Swinburne’s epicentre of creativity and disruption on campus, fast-tracking development and marketing of new ventures for students, start-ups and industry

Data for Social Good - Cloud Innovation Centre
works with public sector organisations to undertake digital transformation challenges that address pressing social needs
