The Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences was established in 2023 to bring together outstanding Swinburne experts spanning research and translation from fundamental cognitive neuroscience through to evidence-based clinical practice.
Our mission
Our core mission is to perform internationally leading research on the psychological and neurobiological determinants of mental health. We adopt an inclusive and interdisciplinary approach to understand and devise preventative and restorative interventions focused on the individual.
As a research centre, we align with Swinburne’s flagship areas of Med Tech and Health Innovation, Digital Capability and Innovative Society. Open science and reproducible research practices are central to our mission.

NeTC offers evidence-based treatment programs for specific types of mental health problems such as generalised anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, PTSD and more.
