Swinburne is pleased to announce that it is partnering with technology focused FPT University in Vietnam to deliver a small suite of internationally sought after undergraduate programs in Hanoi from September 2019.
This strategic partnership is the second announced as an outcome of the Expanding Global Capability strategy, headed by Swinburne International. The partnership between two technology universities will initially bring to Vietnam Swinburne’s global education and research expertise in information and communication technology, business, and media and communication.
The proposed courses will be offered in a staged implementation process and will include:
- Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology
- Bachelor of Business
- Bachelor of Media and Communication
FPT University is a leading Vietnamese private university owned by FPT, Vietnam’s largest global IT services corporation. Both FPT and Swinburne are focused on digital transformation for social and economic impact and delivering a highly skilled workforce as Vietnam embraces Industry 4.0.
Swinburne has a long history of engagement in Vietnam and contribution by Swinburne staff over many years to Vietnamese society, from school engagement, through to education delivery and world-leading research projects. This will be taken to the next level in partnering with FPT.
“Together, Swinburne and FPT will expand student learning opportunities and deliver high quality and employable graduates taking advantage of each partner’s global networks. Swinburne students in Vietnam will take advantage of the opportunities to study in Melbourne and Sarawak, while Swinburne students in Melbourne and Sarawak can travel to Vietnam for study, internships and potentially work in an FPT global location,” says Swinburne Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Duncan Bentley.
Swinburne is building on its highly successful academic partnerships in international locations including Swinburne Sarawak in Malaysia and Nawaloka College in Sri Lanka where we deliver high quality teaching and learning.
Delivery and outcomes will be quality assured using established Swinburne governance and quality assurance processes, and will be closely managed by Swinburne to ensure an outstanding student learning experience that goes well beyond both Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and professional accreditation standards.
“As part of Swinburne’s 2025 strategy we are dedicated to being an innovative enterprise that is agile, resilient and market responsive, while creating future-ready learners and world-leading research for social and economic impact,” says Professor Bentley.
