Swinburne community recognised in Queen’s Birthday 2018 Honours List

Members of the Swinburne community have been recognised in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

The Queen's Birthday Honours List recognises Australians for outstanding excellence, achievement or meritorious service.

Congratulations to the following recipients and their families.

Dr ‘Ian’ Donald Allen, former Swinburne Council member (1993 to 2000), appointed a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for significant service to education through roles in the development of public policy and accreditation standards.

Mr Michael Stefanovic, Graduate Diploma in Organisation Behaviour (1995), appointed an AM for significant service to international relations in senior investigative roles with the United Nations and the World Bank.

Jill Bilcock, a Diploma of Art (Film and Television) alumna (1973), was appointed a Companion (AC) in the General Division Of The Order Of Australia for eminent service to the Australian motion picture industry as a film editor, to the promotion and development of the profession, as a role model, and through creative contributions to the nation's cultural identity.

Judith Pinkerton-Treloar, an Associate Diploma of Social Sciences (Child Care) (1996) alumna, was awarded a Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the General Division for service to women veterans.

Dr Terrence Ahern, who completed a Graduate Certificate of Applied Science (Nutritional and Environmental Medicine) (2005), was awarded an OAM for service to medicine, particularly in the field of general practice.

William Renshaw, who completed a Certificate in Accountancy (1969), was awarded an OAM for service to the community through a range of originations.

Angela Wheelton, Master of Business Admin (2005) alumna, was awarded an OAM for service to the community through a range of organisations.
