Two Swinburne graduates have been recognised by the Australian Interior Design Awards.
Kylie Dorotic and Alicia McKimm of Melbourne interior design practice We are Huntly, were acknowledged with the award for Emerging Interior Design Practice.
“We feel humbled and proud to receive such recognition from industry greats,” Ms Dorotic says.
“We have gained so much exposure through the awards, both interstate and international enquiry. The reach has been incredible. We hope it leads to a growing client list.”
“Containing a clear passion, rigour and eye for detail, this interior design practice portrays a maturity and sophistication, while also embracing the functional and fun,” the Australian Interior Design Awards jury says.
Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design at Swinburne, Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside, is proud of what We are Huntly has achieved.
“The School of Design is very proud to see two recent Swinburne graduates being awarded the best emerging interior design practise,” Professor Thompson-Whiteside says.
“We aim to instil in our students the ability to push new boundaries, to be innovative and have an entrepreneurial spirit, so it’s wonderful to see our graduates carrying those attributes into their careers. It highlights the quality of Swinburne’s interior course and is a testament to the staff who have contributed to their success.”
We are Huntly also received a commendation in the category of Residential Decoration for their work at Richmond Residence.
