In Summary

  • Swinburne's Bachelor of Laws (LLB) receives the second highest ATAR of any law degree in Victoria
  • The ATAR for the LLB is 93.1

Swinburne’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) has received the second highest clearly in ATAR of any university law degree in Victoria.

In only its second year of operation, the Bachelor of Laws’ ATAR has risen by three points to 93.1, indicating there is high demand from prospective students to study law at Swinburne.

This puts demand by school leavers for Swinburne’s law degree second in the state and ahead of LaTrobe, Deakin, ACU and Victoria University.

Dean of the Swinburne Law School, Professor Dan Hunter, said the ATAR results, published on Monday 18 January, indicate that Swinburne’s law program is offering what students are looking for.

‘It's wonderful to see that students have realised our degree is the best law degree for the new innovation economy, with its focus on technology, practical learning and small class sizes,’ Professor Hunter says.

‘We are tremendously excited to welcome the 2016 class of law students to Swinburne.’

Launched in 2015, the Swinburne Law School has a strong focus on innovation, creativity and intellectual property.

Students at Swinburne can also undertake double degrees in law with arts, business, business information systems, innovation and design, science, aviation and engineering.
