First preferences up, scholarship offers up at Swinburne

More high-achieving students are choosing Swinburne, with VTAC offers for university courses released today.
Swinburne is one of only three universities in Victoria to have an increase in first preference undergraduate applications – an exceptional result given that overall the number of applications made through VTAC was down this year.
This year, Swinburne also made 109 scholarship offers to high achieving students through VTAC, up from 63 in 2015.
Merit-based scholarships include Swinburne’s Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship which is available to eligible students who achieve an ATAR score of at least 95.
Aside from merit-based scholarships, Swinburne also offers scholarships to support students from indigenous backgrounds, students suffering financial hardship and those who have relocated from regional areas to study.
Overall, Swinburne made 3697 offers through the VTAC main round for its undergraduate and vocational education courses in 2016, an increase of 4.98% from last year.
“We’re thrilled to see students choosing to study at Swinburne. We have options available for every ATAR and students can still change their preference and choose to study with us in 2016,” Vice-President (International and Students), Jeffrey Smart says.
