In Summary

  • The partnership will see Swinburne and Yonsei work together closely on international student projects
  • Yonseis and Swinburne are both members of the Global Design Factory Network

Swinburne University of Technology has signed a new agreement with Yonsei University in Korea.

The agreement will see Swinburne’s Design Factory (SDF) and Yonsei’s Design Factory Korea (DFK) work together closely.

Dean of the Swinburne’s School of Design, Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside, who signed the agreement, says that the cooperation between SDF and DFK would allow students to work together on international projects.

‘This new partnership will allow Korean students to work with us on projects with Australian organisations and for Swinburne students to work on projects with Korean organisations,’ Professor Thompson-Whiteside says.

‘Students will also have the opportunity to complete an exchange for one semester at each university,’

In 2014 Yonsei established the Design Factory Korea, which provides a platform for students to collaborate with industry. Like the Swinburne’s Design Factory, Design Factory Korea is a partner in the Design Factory Global Network.

Swinburne’s School of Design has established a strong reputation in Korea and now has exchange agreements with Hong-ik University, Yonsei University and Korea Advanced Institute for Science and Technology (KAIST).
