The prestigious QS World University Rankings has ranked Swinburne University of Technology in the top 550 universities globally for 2015.

This result positions Swinburne in the top 27 universities in Australia.

The QS World University Rankings by Faculty ranked Swinburne at 224 for Engineering and Technology – an increase of 80 places compared to 2014.

The QS World Rankings of Universities by Subject recognised Swinburne as having one of the best design schools in the world, ranking the university in the top 100 for Art and Design.

Each year the QS World University rankings consider more than 3000 universities around the world with the top 800 ranked according to six key performance indicators.

The rankings are designed to assess universities in four areas: research, teaching, employability and internationalisation.

This ranking follows the August release of the 2015 Academic Ranking of World Universities in which Swinburne maintained its position in the top 400 universities in the world.
