In Summary

Free counselling and health advice is now close at hand at headspace Hawthorn for Swinburne students and other young people, located in the new Town Hall precinct, on Burwood Rd.

headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, is a social initiative designed to meet the needs of people aged between 12 and 25, at risk of developing mental illness and substance use disorders.

Swinburne’s Psychology Professor, Greg Murray, who is the independent chair of headspace Hawthorn says that “with one in four young people experiencing a mental health issue at some time in their life this new centre will help local young people access and navigate the services they need and reduce the stigma of mental health and seeking support".

headspace Hawthorn brings together a variety of service providers that help young people in Melbourne’s inner east including health, training, housing and employment services . To access this free and confidential service, contact headspace Hawthorn
