Study tour overview

This program provides students with insights into Fijian life and business practices, and explores various socio-cultural and environmental challenges impacting communities. Students will develop leadership, communication, and cross-cultural understanding, while gaining practical skills in business management, problem-solving, and innovative thinking.

The program focuses on creating sustainable community development strategies, preserving natural and cultural heritage, and providing economic opportunities. It aims to benefit local communities, while offering students insights into Fijian cultural, political, and regulatory environments. The project is designed to deliver tangible outcomes for both students and communities.

Highlights / tentative itinerary

The itinerary for this program will likely include a mix of the following experiences:

  • Cultural introductory session in Nadi
  • Visits to social enterprises and NGOs in Nadi and Suva
  • Guided campus tour and lectures at the University of the South Pacific
  • Community projects and cultural activities in Remote Villages
  • Visits to significant sites like the National Museum of Fiji and Colo-i-Suva heritage park
  • Exploration of natural attractions such as Bouma National Heritage Park, Tavoro Waterfalls, and the Garden of the Sleeping Giant

Eligibility and selection criteria

Students must have completed a minimum of 150 credit points before departure. Students from all study areas are eligible to apply.
