Overview

This project will provide you with the knowledge and experience of working on real-life industry projects in socio-cultural context within the Indo-Pacific region of Sri Lanka. The project, developed in partnership with a large conglomerate based in Colombo, will have you working alongside business students in multidisciplinary teams to solve real business problems supported by academic coaches and industry mentors.  

You will undertake a two-week posting in Colombo immersing yourself in the local culture and business environment, working on the assigned project, and strengthening business skills. You will gain practical insights into market context, resources, products, services, and logistic arrangements in Indo-Pacific business environment. Notable similarities in the business environments in Sri Lanka and other Asian countries will open-up business and career opportunities to work in the Asia and Pacific region. After returning, you can be considered ambassadors for the future student mobility program, enhancing your leadership capabilities.

To qualify for this program, you must:

  • Be enrolled into an Undergraduate degree
  • have completed or be enrolled into BUS30031 Sustainable Business Practice, at the time of application

Funding your overseas journey may be easier than you think

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant

This program has A$3,000 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants available for eligible students.

These grants provide financial support to help alleviate the expenses associated with your overseas program. Australian undergraduate students that meet all eligiblity criteria may apply. Students can apply for a grant as part of the application process.

OS-HELP Loan

Eligible Australian students can also apply for an Australian Government OS-HELP Loan of up to A$9,504 (depending on your program location) to help cover costs associated with your overseas program.
