Attention Junior Scientists! Get ready for two days filled with hands-on holiday science for curious kids from Prep to Year 8.

The PrimeSCI! Team are excited to return to the Wantirna Campus, and will be joined again by legendary retired science teacher Ralph Sinclair OAM.

Science Workshops

Motions of every impossible kind! Extend your understanding of motion through Ralph’s memorable physics activities and demonstrations in this 90-minute lesson. Investigate spinning, launching, diving, colours and more! A great extension to content covered in January’s Motions lessons. (90min)

Grade 5 - Year 8

Discover what happens when scientists and eggs are mixed together. The lesson will include testing the strength of the egg shape, protecting eggs and launching eggs with our own catapaults. You will never look at a carton of eggs the same way again! (Please do not attend if you have an egg allergy!) (1hr)

Prep - Grade 4

Why does it ooze, plop and stretch? Create our favourite slimes in the lab and compare their properties. (1hr)

Enrolment fee

  • $24.50 per child for each 1 hour workshop (plus $0.50 Trybooking Fee)
  • $29.50 per child for 1.5 hour Different Motion workshop (plus $0.50 Trybooking Fee)

Please note

  • Children must be booked into their correct school year level only.
  • Children attending multiple sessions must be supervised by a parent/guardian during break times.

COVID safety

All Swinburne workshops will be held in accordance with Victorian government COVID regulations. The wearing of masks is suggested.
