Seeing Atom Clouds, Seeing Equations

We outline a simple and robust means for nondestructively imaging the column density of cold atom clouds.
We then turn to the question of means to reconstruct the wavefunction (complex orderparameter field) for a 2+1dimensional
BoseEinstein condensate. Lastly, we outline some recent investigations into the question of how one may "measure" certain partial
differential equations obeyed by 2+1dimensional complex scalar wavefields, given measurements of wavefield modulus.
