Student systems are the web tools you use for many of your interactions with Swinburne. From timetables, results, assignment submission portals and lecture recordings, these are the student systems you'll use most often.

    Canvas is our Learning Management System (LMS) which is an online tool for accessing study materials, submitting assignments and staying informed about your units. Use your SIMS ID/username and password to sign in to Canvas.

    All Swinburne students have free access to the Adobe Creative Cloud and over 20 different apps including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects and so much more!

    It’s important to check your student email regularly because we use it for important notifications. If you don’t check in often, you may miss a key date. At Swinburne, we use Microsoft Office 365 to manage student emails.

Sign in from the Current Students page to log in to Student One and your student email all at the same time. You can use Canvas to find your learning materials.

You can use Student One to manage and access your:

  • enrolment
  • study plan
  • timetable
  • fee payments
  • personal details
  • exam timetables
  • results
  • HELP loan repayments
  • graduation bookings

You'll need your student ID and a password to sign in to Student One.

Echo360 ALP (Active Learning Platform) is a tool in your Blackboard or Canvas LMS unit that gives you access to lecture recordings, learning resources, interactive activities and allows you to take part in live interactive quizzes in class.

Students who need to remotely access Swinburne resources can do so using our VPN. Install CISCO’s VPN software through the link below and log in using your SIMS ID.

Cloudstor is a large file transfer service available to Swinburne staff and students to share files up to 100GB in size.

Software for students

Swinburne provides a variety of software resources on Swinburne computers and for home use to assist you with your studies.

As a Swinburne student, you can access the Adobe Creative Cloud on Swinburne Macs and PCs, which includes programs such as After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and many more. If you would like to use the Adobe Creative Cloud at home, you can purchase the software directly from Adobe at a special discounted price. 

You also have free access to Microsoft Office 365 on university Macs and PCs. Office 365 includes programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and more and available to be downloaded on up to five devices for you to use at home.

The Electronic License Management System (ELMS) is available to students enrolled in current FSET (Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology), Design, Media and IT or Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering subjects.

Apps on Demand provides Swinburne staff and students access to a range of applications from any Mac or Windows lab, including the Library.

 You can access Apps on Demand from either the Citrix Workspace application (installed in all student labs) or your favourite web browser.
