Ceremony dates and venue
Swinburne will automatically allocate you a ceremony date when you’re eligible to graduate.
This date will be in the email that student communications sends you, typically at least four weeks before your graduation ceremony. Check this email to confirm your individual date.
The results release date of your final unit will influence your graduation ceremony date.
The time between your results release date and your graduation ceremony is typically at least four weeks.
The exception is December graduation ceremonies. These are held the week following result release so students can graduate before the end of the year.
If you’ve completed your last unit too close to the next graduation ceremony, you’ll automatically be allocated the next ceremony after that.
Changing your ceremony date
You can change the ceremony date you’ve been offered if it doesn’t suit you:
- log in to My Graduation
- click the 'Modify' button
- select ‘Postpone’ from the drop-down options. You can defer to the next round of graduation ceremonies or add a text note to nominate your preferred date.
- NOTE: You will only be able to postpone your ceremony once.
- click the 'Save' button to submit.
