Unit costs and indicative course fees

Your fees vary depending on which units you study in your course. Use these indicative course fees to estimate the cost of your course.

Vocational education (formerly TAFE) units and courses

As a vocational education student, your fees vary depending on the course you study, and whether you’re eligible for a government-subsidised place.

If you don’t qualify for a subsidy, you need to pay the full fees for the units that make up your course. You can find the full fee costs in the documents below.

VET Tuition Assurance exemption

In rare circumstances, courses are discontinued. Swinburne has been granted an exemption from VET Tuition Assurance requirements under the Higher Education Support Act 2003.

Before discontinuing a VET course, Swinburne will consult any students potentially affected and consider all feedback before making decisions.

If your VET course is discontinued, we’ll work with you to find the best possible outcome from the following options:

  1. Transition you into a mutually agreed alternative course or suitable replacement VET course at Swinburne (or other VET provider)
  2. Assist you to complete your course through a supported/modified learning program
  3. Offer you a refund for any upfront fees and remit any VET FEE-HELP balances where your units cannot be credited into a replacement course.
