Overview
This course is a mandatory requirement for licensed electrical workers (LEWs) operating in Victoria, as part of Energy Safe's Professional development program.
- Learners will attend this training as part of their licensing requirements for Energy Safe. Resources for this course have been developed and supplied by Energy Safe which are the Electrical Industry regulator.
- The course will support licensed Electrical workers to keep up to date with safety, regulatory, technical, and other changes relevant to the trade.
- Enrolled students will undertake pre-learning activities online prior to
attending a full day of face-to-face activities. You will receive a link to theonline pre-learning activities that must be completed prior to commencing the face-to-face class. - Upon successful completion you will receive a Statement of Participation.
Who should attend
- Electricians that hold a valid Victorian electrical licence (Licensed Electrical Workers)
- Licenced electricians must complete the CPD course within the 2 years before renewing your licence.
- For example, if your licence is due to expire on 30 May 2025, you can complete the CPD training any time between 30 May 2023 and 30 May 2025.

Entry requirements
- Students will be required to provide evidence of a valid Victorian Electrical Workers Licence, to gain entry to this course as part of the registration process.
- This will ensure that students are placed in the correct course according to licence type.
- Licence classes include:
- A: Electricians Licence
- ES: Electrician (Supervised) Workers Licence
- REL: Restricted Electrical Licence (Class 1 and 2)
- Some course dates receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation you will be provided the option of attending the next available course relevant to your licence category held and suitable for admission.

This course is delivered face-to-face at Swinburne's Croydon campus, 12-50 Norton Rd, Croydon VIC 3136.
What to bring
All candidates must present to the practical class with:
- Multi Meter/ Volt meter (recommended)
- Digital or analogue IRC tester (recommended)
- Basic hand tools (recommended)
- LOTO kit for isolation/Disconnect/Reconnect (recommended)
- Electrical LV Gloves (recommended)
- Bring your own device – Laptop / Ipad / Tablet
- Long pants
- Long sleeve top
- Enclosed foot wear
- Safety eye wear
AS/NZS Standards, Regulations, hand tools and equipment will be provided.
