Change Lecture Theatre UI - remove Desk Mic MUTE function from Echo page. Our Swinburne Lecture Theatres have a desk mounted Microphone. The purpose of this microphone is to provide a backup audio source for the EchoPro 360 lecture capture system. This is in case the Swinburne Lecturer forgets to wear the lapel microphone provided.
There is an option, in the control panel, to mute this desk microphone.
The problem we have discovered is that muting the desk microphone unintentionally impacts the following lecture recordings. When muted, the microphone can only be re-activated manually and it not activated as a default when the AV system is shut down.
The Audio Visual department in IT would recommend to permanently remove this function from the touch panel.
If the lecturer wishes to mute the desk microphone or share any type of Audio or Visual Copyright content during a recorded session, we ask that they use the ‘Pause’ recording option and thus removing this semi-duplicated feature which is impacting other class captures.
