Arun Chittilappilly
Alumni story | Engineering
From Swinburne Master of Engineering graduate to Director of India's most profitable chain of amusement parks. Arun Chittilappilly works in what he calls “a business of fun and happiness”.
Arun's career in the industry began when he transformed a small amusement park into Wonderla’s first roaring success. “Optimising design and function for effectiveness is what gets me excited,” he says. Today, Wonderla has parks in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kochi and welcomed nearly 2.5 million visitors in 2018.
Arun’s childhood fascination with machines led him to study industrial engineering. “What I learned at Swinburne helped me avoid costly mistakes when conceptualising our parks,” Arun says. He says the best part about his career is seeing people enjoy the rides his company has built.
