Prevention is better than cure: worn-out adage or universal truth?

By nature, leaders are people interested in the future. And the future is central to the study of Strategic Foresight.

Swinburne’s postgrad course in Strategic Foresight is the only course of its kind in Australia. It helps students develop and improve their ability to create and use ideas about the future, allowing them to advise organisations on what to do in the present based on ideas and insights about what is coming.

As well as concentrating on prevention and preparation, the course looks closely at creation and innovation. After all, the future is a blank slate – its possibilities are nearly endless. Our graduates can offer valuable cautionary advice while also providing the sort of imaginative and inventive ideas that turn good organisations into great ones.
