Dale Creed

Apprenticeship in Nursery Production

Dale Creed "I can’t tell you when my interest in horticulture began. I think I’ve always been interested in gardening. There weren’t any influences on me really – I just started doing it. Since graduating, I moved overseas where I was invited to work at Clootwijck Nurseries in the Netherlands."

David Parlby

Diploma of Horticulture

David Parlby "I completed a Nursery Apprenticeship, securing a job at Proteaflora, where I had been working for six years.

Swinburne teacher Mike Callaway got me the job, he put in a good word with the nursery’s owner and I’ve been there ever since. I went on to complete a Diploma of Horticulture, studying at night.

I love working within the Horticulture industry and was thrilled when I was won the 2008 Rod Tallis Award by the International Plant Propagators Society (IPPS) and the 2008 Tree & Shrub Growers Young Achievers Award."

Suntisak Thammavongsa

Diploma of Network Engineering

Suntisak Thammavongsa"An international study scholarship gave me the opportunity to study a Diploma of Network Engineering at Swinburne TAFE. After graduating from Swinburne, I got a job at Sky Telecom (an internet service provider) as a network engineer.

After two years I decided it was time to broaden my experience so I moved to another IT company where my knowledge of TCP/IP networking proved to be very useful.

I hope return to Australia to undertake a Bachelor of Computing degree at Swinburne soon."
