Paul Nichol

Diploma of Outdoor Recreation

Paul Nichol"Studying the Diploma of Outdoor Recreation started everything for me. I found being around like-minded people and the environment to not only be extremely rewarding and fulfilling, but it really got me thinking.

I want to encourage people to make changes in their lives. As a result, I recently embarked on an unsupported cycling tour around Australia to promote awareness and raise money for sustainable living. This trip is a way to catch people’s attention. I really want to create awareness and the more things that are out there, the more aware people become.

As well as pushing the sustainability message, I also hope to raise money for the Melbourne-based Sustainable Living Foundation (SLF)."

Jesse Townsend

Certificate III in General Construction (Bricklaying/Blocklaying)

Jesse Townsend"After leaving high school, I began working as an apprentice bricklayer for Brian Lee Bricklaying whilst undertaking a Certificate III in General Construction (Bricklaying/ Blocklaying) at Swinburne TAFE.

Swinburne TAFE kept my standard of brickwork high, always expecting my best work. This definitely helped throughout my apprenticeship, and now in my own business.

I established my business J.T Bricklaying, in 2007 and I build homes for Porter Davis Homes Lifestyle.

Within the next couple of years I hope to have three to five other people working for me in a successful business. I also plan on obtaining my building certificate part-time with Swinburne in the next couple of years."
