Overview

This unit helps students to develop an appreciation of the workings of the Asian countries visited and of areas of Australian diplomatic and trade representation within Asia. The aim of the tour is to familiarise students with the actual issues, debates and workings of the organisations visited and their impact on Australia.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an awareness of some of the key institutions in the Asian countries
  • Display an understanding of the relationship Australia has with the Asian countries
  • Analyse the major trade issues within the Asia and Australia relationships
  • Communicate proficiently and in a professional manner to a variety of audiences and operate as a member or leader of a team
  • Reflect on and take responsibility for their own learning and self-management processes
