Overview

Students will experience and understand the various functions and interoperability’s which occur within and airline’s Integrated Network Operations Centre in order to manage ‘day of operations’ activities, including disruption management. Students will be exposed to the real world complexities, pressures and compromises demanded of real time individual and team based decision making in the aviation environment and analogous high consequence industries

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Describe comprehensively the elements, structure and mechanisms involved in daily operations
  • Articulate the characteristics of, and processes that occur within, an integrated operations centre
  • Apply the technical concepts of aircraft operations to solve day of operations problems in a complex multi-disciplinary environment
  • Develop and refine problem solving and decision-making strategies to resolve dynamic operational disruptions
  • Balance commercial, legal and safety factors to optimise operational performance according to business priorities
  • Demonstrate effective professional communicaiton in a diverse environment
