Admission to MA-PHYS Master of Physiotherapy

Aims and objectives

This unit examines the role of digital health and informatics technology in supporting evidence-based clinical practice. Students will examine digital technologies through various examples within the industry. Scientific research methods will be employed to critically appraise factors influencing the adoption, safety, and effectiveness of technology in health. Students will consolidate their immersion in industry-partnered Physiotherapy Business Work Integrated Learning (PBWIL) program to grow professional capability. The PBWIL program will facilitate readiness to work and the opportunity to engage with industry on a project within health 
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

1. Critically reflect on the concepts of technology, digital health and the role of informatics in healthcare.
2.Critique the use of digital health and technology to inform and support healthcare delivery
3. Critically appraise and identify gaps in clinical practice to inform translation in healthcare
4. Develop professional capability as an emerging health professional in an industry-partnered program.
5. Design and present a healthcare solution to support physiotherapy practice in the industry
