Aims and objectives

This unit of study aims to cover the skills and knowledge required to analyse and perform predictive analytics using multi-disciplinary engineering simulation techniques. The student will learn to research and use emerging technologies including 1D simulation, 3D computer-aided engineering (CAE) to analyse, design and manufacture a product using an engineering system.

Unit Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
#Unit Learning Outcome Description
ULO1Apply mathematics to perform predictive engineering analysis
ULO2Apply the principles of physics to analyse functional performance of engineering components and subsystems
ULO3Design, manufacture and test an engineering system, using 1D Simulation and 3D Computer-aided Engineering (CAE) techniques
ULO4Research common failures of engineering components and develop a systematic approach to monitoring an engineering system as a group.
