Aims and objectives

To develop the student’s specialised understanding of aircraft systems and aeronautical and
aerodynamic factors influencing aircraft performance up to Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)
standard. Additionally the student will be introduced to human performance and limitations
relevant to Airline operations

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Apply the engineering and human factors knowledge that impact on flying operations at the ATPL level.
2. Describe the operational limits of both aircraft and human beings at the ATPL level.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the unit material sufficient to pass the CASA Air Transport Pilot Licence theory examinations for Aircraft General Knowledge, and Human.Factors Principles.
