Career opportunities

Once you’re a licensed plumber, you’ll have a lot of autonomy on the job. You can start your own plumbing business, giving you more independence and flexibility.

Only a licensed plumber can issue a Certificate of Compliance that certifies that the work they have carried out complies with the relevant regulations and standards.

A licensed plumber must hold insurance that protects the householder in case of faulty work.

The aim of this course is to advance your skills across the plumbing industry with an outcome of having the required knowledge, expertise, and experience to perform their work in accordance with identified plumbing standards once a plumber is licensed.

Entry requirements

For the operations stream, a candidate must hold a Certificate III in Plumbing or be authorised to undertake plumbing work by an Australian regulator/licensing body.
