Overview

Discover the incredible opportunity that awaits you at one of our partner universities in Denmark, Copenhagen Business School. Enrolling into this Short-term Exchange program during your Winter break opens the gateway for you to immerse yourself in the dynamic, diverse global outlook that CBS provides. 

You'll have the opportunity to choose from a range of business courses that run from 3-weeks or 6-weeks. During this program, you are studying at CBS's Summer School as an exchange student, where you'll rediscover a new side of your academic journey while you are introduced to Copenhagen's vibrant spirirt and Danish traditions. 

All classes are taught in English and this program involves an exciting cultural and social program, including a day-trip where you’ll join your fellow students on a memorable journey in Denmark creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Courses offered

You can choose between 3-week or 6-week courses only (do not choose 2-week courses). CBS offers courses in the following disciplines:

  • accounting
  • communication
  • economics
  • finance
  • management
  • marketing
  • organisation
  • strategy
  • statistics
     

Eligibility criteria

To apply for this program, students must:

  • be enrolled into an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree
  • meet the overseas exchange program eligibility requirements
  • meet any pre-requisites listed by the host institution and for the courses you choose
     

Academic credit

  • 6-week courses: You can combine up to two of these courses (7.5 ECTS each, and 15 ECTS in total).
  • 3-week courses: These courses are intensive (7.5 ECTS) and cannot be combined with any other course type.

Note that all 7.5 ECTS courses begin with a Preliminary Assignment, enriching your learning experience. This requires approximately 20 hours of your time.Y

ou are able to take this program as credit for one or two of your elective units, depending on the amount of credits you complete. Alternatively, you may be able to use a core unit/s for this program, subject to approval from your Course Director.

Credit equivalence

7.5 ECTS = 12.5 CP (1 unit) at Swinburne

15 ECTS = 25 CP (2 units) at Swinburne

Costs

Program cost: Social program at CBS, DKK 800 (approx. A$400), and housing fees (TBC in March 2024)

This program cost is paid to the host institution and includes the following:

  • Accommodation during the duration of your program
  • The social program at CBS (includes welcoming meet-up, guided tours of Copenhagen, Danish folk dancing, a cultural day trip, comedy nights, and more)
  • Airport arrival and pickup arranged

The host university will be able to provide further information upon application.

Note: Tuition fees to the host university are waived for students completing a short-term exchange program at one of our partner universities. You will continue to pay your regular tuition fees to Swinburne while you are on the program.

There may be other program costs incurred outside of tuition fees, including living expenses, airfares, and visas (if applicable).

Funding

Funding your overseas journey may be easier than you think

Swinburne Abroad Travel Grants

This program has A$1,000 Swinburne Abroad Travel Grants available.

This grant can help offset travel and living expenses for your overseas internship and are available to both Domestic and International UG or PG students. Students can apply for a grant as part of the application process.

OS-HELP Loan

Eligible Australian students can also apply for an Australian Government OS-HELP Loan of up to A$8,817 (depending on your program destination) to help cover costs associated with your overseas program.

Application

Students must first apply to Swinburne Abroad following the short-term exchange application process. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis.
