Study groups — online

Boost your academic performance by joining a study group of students studying the same unit and course or within the same faculty as you. Study groups discuss and work through concepts, ideas and any confusion or problems with course material. Regular study group attendees often achieve better results.

The majority of Study Groups are facilitated via Zoom with several utilising Collaborate Ultra from within the relevant unit Canvas site.

Study groups can be self-organised or run by your faculty. The Study Group Coordinator (contact details below) can connect you with an appropriate study group if you need help, or you can find one yourself.

Student Learning Assistants (SLAs)

If you visit the Learning and Academic Skills (LAS) drop-in centre for academic support, you have the option of working with a Student Learning Assistant (SLA) if you wish.

The LAS Centre trains SLAs to provide you with high-quality academic skills development. It's a good option if you would prefer to work with a fellow student rather than a senior learning adviser.

Want to become a Student Learning Assistant?

Student Learning Assistants provide an important service to other students at Swinburne. As an SLA you’ll gain the opportunity to develop your own skills that will help you stand out to future employers.
