We’re looking forward to welcoming you all back to our Hawthorn campus for the 2024 Career Practitioners’ Seminar. There’s so much for you to catch up on, from updated entry requirements and study areas to new and revised courses.
For this year’s Career Practitioners’ Seminar, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- take a deep dive tour of our facilities and technology, including a sneak peek at our exciting Hawthorn campus transformations
- experience new, interactive workshops across different study areas like aviation, business, media and communication, psychology, and more
- enjoy a free networking lunch and dessert.
Experience Swinburne Workshops
Get a feel for Swinburne’s practical approach to learning with hands-on workshops across different study areas.
Flight simulation
Take a tour of the facilities used to train Swinburne’s aviation students with a demonstration of our flight simulator and integrated simulated airline operations control centre.
40 Floors Up game
Get an overview of Swinburne’s Law and Criminology/Criminal Justice courses, including pathway options. Then, it's time to play 40 Floors Up, a strategy game developed by our very own Swinburne Law School!
Cyber intelligence workshop
Learn about cyber attacks, how they happen, and how to test them by working through a series of hands-on activities in one of Swinburne’s computer labs.
Immersive media experience
Dive into the world of immersive media: Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). Gain firsthand experience in emerging technologies to better understand immersive media and its real-world applications.
Business innovation challenge
Learn all about digital transformation as you take a business problem from idea to solution using contemporary methods, including design thinking, rapid prototyping, and LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®.
Psychology exercise demonstration
Discover our suite of psychology degrees and TAFE courses, and the opportunities for work and further study that an undergraduate degree can lead to. Plus, preview some of the exercises taught to Swinburne psychology students.
VR experience
Step inside a simulation and experience life as an early childhood educator. Get a look at the day-to-day teaching routine as you interact with virtual students in a classroom setting.
