Overview
Through the counselling experience gained from Practicum Sites, direct supervision, feedback received, as well as group supervision of case studies, students will learn to establish rapport and define client’s problems appropriately. Students will also have opportunities to use generic helping skills for their client’s benefit. Students will also learn about the principles of ethical practice in counselling.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Utilise written communication skills and knowledge of counselling practices to write an effective counselling case report
- Effectively present and process client cases through individual and group supervision
- Identify the ethical principles relevant to counselling and apply these to work with clients
