Overview
The Unit aims to equip the students with the knowledge and hands-on skills of planning and designing a research project that addresses industry issues and public concerns and developing an action plan to accomplish the research.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Identify an issue in aviation science that enables in-depth research to be conducted
- Formulate and define research question(s)
- Justify the rationale of undertaking the research
- Determine the research methodology appropriate for data collection and analysis
- Develop an action plan to accomplish the research within timeline

Hurdle
As the minimum requirements of assessment to pass a unit and meet all ULOs to a minimum standard, an undergraduate student must have achieved:
an aggregate mark for the unit of 50% or more.

- Formulating a research plan and strategy
- Planning literature search and critically reviewing literature
- Deciding research methodology appropriate for data collection and analysis
- Developing an action plan to accomplish the research within timeline
- Writing up a synopsis outlining the research questions and objectives
