Business Information Systems Internship Project
Overview
This unit provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in an industry setting while completing their studies. During the internship students will apply the knowledge that they developed during their studies to a wide range of organisational projects, gain the experience of working in diverse organisational contexts and cultures and, produce a professional report for their Internship host. Project activities typically include: the development of information systems strategies for business; systems analysis and design, research and development, business analysis and project management activities

100 cps in MA-BIS or MA-IT or MA-ITPC or MSc(Network Systems) or MEngSc(Network Systems) or in discontinued Courses MITPM, MITBA and MTech(IT).

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Apply coherent and advanced knowledge business information systems analysis, including business analysis and project management in diverse contexts and applications using critical thinking

Content
- The internship project will provide an opportunity for students to work on a specific business information systems analysis, business analysis or project management activity with an approved host organisation in the workplaceÂ
- Projects will be carried out under the supervision of an industry professional with additional supervision provided by an academic staff member
- Project activities may take various forms involving a range of tasks and activities associated with business information systems analysis, business analysis or project management and are to be viewed as a means to demonstrate theoretical knowledge obtained in study in the workplace
