Understanding Your Offer

Conditional Offer

If you have received a conditional offer, you must fulfil the conditions stated within it.

Prior to or at the time of accepting your offer, you must provide evidence that you have met all conditions outlined in your letter of offer. If you do not provide this evidence, you will not be eligible to proceed with your enrolment.

The type of evidence you must submit depends on the conditions as listed on your letter of offer.

Examples include:

  • Official or certified copies of academic transcripts
  • Completion letters or certificates

Advanced Standing

If you have received Advanced Standing, which may include Credit Transfer, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or exemptions, for previous studies, this will have been indicated in your letter of offer. The course duration shown on your letter of offer will reflect the amount of Advanced Standing you have received.

Actual details of exemptions will be determined at the time of enrolment. You must bring your original/certified copies of all academic transcripts and detailed syllabus of studies undertaken for verification at the enrolment session. The full amount of credit will only be granted upon provision of such information and evidence that the conditions stated in your offer have been met.

If you have not requested Advanced Standing at the time of submission of your application you must request it within two weeks after your course commencement date.

Tuition Fees

Students who enrol in a full-fee paying postgrad course pay a tuition fee to Swinburne. A student enrols in a course (e.g. Master of Design) and enrolment within it is divided into a series of units of study for each semester or term.

The annual tuition fee payable is based on a student who is enrolled in a standard full-time course (Equivalent Full-Time Student Load (EFTSL) = 1.0). Full time students typically undertake 8 units per year, each with an average EFTSL of 0.125. For example for a unit with an EFTSL of 0.125 the fee charged is 0.125 multiplied by the tuition fee.
