Swinburne Centre for Neuropsychology
The Swinburne Centre for Neuropsychology was established in 2002 as a strategic initiative of Swinburne University to advance research in the science of Neuropsychology. The Centre is committed to understanding the relationship between neurochemicals and psychological, neuropsychological and physiological functioning in both normal human and clinical populations.
The Centre conducts high quality multidisciplinary applied, theoretical/experimental and clinical research that draws upon a number of scientific disciplines including Psychopharmacology, Organisational Psychology, Neuropsychology, Psychophysiology, and Psychiatry.

Objectives
Research
To establish the Centre as a leading international research centre in the disciplines of Psychopharmacology, Organisational Psychology, Neuropsychology, Psychophysiology and Psychiatry.
To conduct high quality research, to attract competitive and industry research grants and to publish in peer reviewed International Journals.
Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching
To establish the Centre as a leading research training Centre which attracts high quality undergraduate, postgraduate and postdoctoral research scholars.
Research Collaboration and Commercial Consultation
To foster local and international collaboration in research with government, industry and academic institutions.
To provide consulting services in key areas of expertise and authority to government, industry and professional organisations.
To utilise the Centre's specialised skills in applying objective psychological and physiological assessment in clinical drug trials, clinical disorders and organisational performance.
Entrepreneurial Activity
To effectively commercialise research findings and knowledge.
Community Service
To provide community service activities through communication of research findings and the provision of expertise to the general public.
Of specific importance to the Centre is to communicate knowledge regarding the effects of drug abuse, the influence of drugs on driving, herbal and nutritional medicine, effects of mobile phones, clinical disorders and treatment and emotional intelligence.
