Academic and professional referee reports
Students applying for entry into the following postgraduate psychology courses must submit additional supporting documentation:
Applicants are required to submit one academic and one professional referee report.
Applicants must register their referees via the Heads of Departments and Schools of Psychology Association Reference Request System and pay a one-off subscription fee of $25. Through this system, referees complete an online report that applicants can forward to Swinburne.
Professional referees must know applicants in a professional capacity and must work in a related field.
Students applying for postgraduate coursework programs in design must submit a portfolio of work or a showreel. Academic transcripts from previous college or university qualifications must also be submitted.
Proof of identity and citizenship
Applications may require proof of your identity and citizenship. Different types of proof are acceptable depending on whether you are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or other type of citizen.
If you are an Australian citizen, proof may be one of the following:
- if you were born before 20 August 1986 – Australian birth certificate or current Australian passport
- if you were born after 20 August 1986 – current Australian passport or Australian citizenship certificate.
If you are a permanent resident (including humanitarian visa holders), you must provide a current passport showing permanent resident visa or permanent resident visa documents.
All other students (including international on-campus students) must provide a current passport (including visa) or, for asylum seekers and refugees, an ImmiCard.
Supporting documentation must be certified as a true and correct copy of the original. This can be done by the issuing body. You can also get documents certified by a person qualified to witness a statutory declaration, such as a police officer, chemist, doctor or an accountant.
Photocopies of previously certified documents are not acceptable.
